We are seeking a Construction Assistant to support a large student housing project in Fort Wayne from February through July, with a potential January start. This temporary role involves operating an all‑terrain forklift, performing general labor tasks such as site clean‑up, and assisting with light carpentry work like installing temporary handrails. Additional responsibilities may include punch list activities such as spackling drywall defects and paint touch‑ups.

Candidates should be adaptable, safety‑conscious, and willing to work occasional extended hours or Saturdays.

• Operate an all‑terrain forklift (certification preferred).
• Perform general labor tasks, including site clean‑up.
• Assist with light carpentry work, such as installing temporary handrails.
• Conduct punch list activities, including spackling drywall defects and paint touch‑ups.
• Support the superintendent in administrative tasks.

• Experience in construction.
• Proficiency in operating an all‑terrain forklift.
• Skills in light carpentry work.
• Ability to perform punch list activities.
• Experience in commercial construction.

• OSHA 30 certification.
• All‑terrain forklift certification.
• Adaptability and safety‑consciousness.

The work environment involves a typical construction site setting with hours from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. There may be days with earlier or later hours, as well as occasional work on Saturdays.

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Fort Wayne, IN.
