OverviewAs a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol - Day Shifts in Fort Wayne, IN
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas at a dynamic worksite, completing routine rounds, observing for unusual activity, and documenting security-related concerns. You will stay highly visible to help deter incidents, provide courteous customer service to employees and visitors, and communicate clearly with site leaders.

- Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the location, including the interior, exterior, perimeter, and parking or staging areas to help deter unwanted activity.
- Monitor access points and help to control entry for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors according to site guidelines.
- Remain alert to conditions common to active work locations such as changing traffic patterns, deliveries, and restricted zones, and report concerns through the chain of command.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from emergency services and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
- Observe, document, and report suspicious activity, property concerns, and policy violations using detailed written reports and/or electronic reporting tools.
- Assist with incident documentation for events such as theft, property damage, trespassing, or disputes, and help to preserve information for follow-up.
- Provide directions and general assistance to visitors and personnel while maintaining a professional presence at the location.
- Perform routine checks of doors, gates, fences, lighting, and other site conditions, and report maintenance concerns to appropriate contacts.
- Communicate clearly with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership via radio, phone, and/or in-person briefings, including shift pass-downs.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
