The City of Fort Wayne Water Pollution Control Plant is hiring an intern to support Industrial Pretreatment and Laboratory operations. This is hands-on environmental science work - not observation, but real responsibility.

• Assist with wastewater sampling, laboratory testing, compliance tracking, and reporting that protects public health and water quality.
• Collect industrial, commercial, influent, effluent, and river samples
• Perform chemical, bacteriological, and physical wastewater analyses
• Maintain sampling equipment, lab instruments, and detailed records
• Support inspections of sewer control structures and grease traps
• Assist with compliance tracking and regulatory documentation

• Two years of chemistry or biology coursework and/or related experience
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures
• Professional communication skills
• Valid Indiana Driver's License

• Basic lab techniques and wet chemistry
• Comfort with data tracking and reporting
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
