GH: 72 Bi-Weekly (96 Bi-Weekly not an option)
Call requirements:
Every other or every third weekend; holidays on rotation; no on-call requirements
Job scope:
Provide direct patient care to oncology patients; administer medications; monitor responses; education for patients and families; participate in care planning and documentation; adhere to safety standards and regulations.
- Provide direct patient care to oncology patients in various settings.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatments.
- Educate patients and families about cancer treatments and care plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor vital signs and report changes to the healthcare team.
- Assist in managing patient pain and discomfort effectively.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
- Engage in performance evaluations and personal improvement goals.
- Utilize data to assess patient outcomes and improve care strategies.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
- Foster a supportive environment for patients and families.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- ACLS and BLS certificated as required.
- 2+ years of nursing experience; oncology experience preferred.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Competency in monitoring vital signs and responding to changes.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to work in a high-visibility, results-oriented environment.
- Experience with documenting patient progress and maintaining records.
- Oncology-specific chemotherapy certification within one year of employment (for Lutheran employed staff).
- Collaborative work environment at an on-site location in Fort Wayne, IN.
