The Position

The Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC) Nurse will provide primary patient care for specifically assigned patients to include assessments, care planning, evaluation and education of patients receiving infusion therapy and/or other nursing services in accordance with the care matrices and best practices in the home or alternate site setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care administering IVIG, biologics and other infusible or injectables as ordered.
  • Perform appropriate patient education.
  • Complete comprehensive nursing assessments.
  • Establish peripheral intravenous lines as well as accessing/maintaining central venous lines (PICC lines, implanted port, Midlines).
  • Submit clinical records efficiently and timely.
  • Prepare and administer medication.
  • Triage infusion patient inquiries.
  • Ability to travel to other location(s) on occasion.
  • Excellent patient assessment and interpersonal skills.
  • Communicate and collaborate to optimize patient care and clinic operations.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and offer suggestions toward continuous quality improvement.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control standards in patient care.
  • Manage AIC required documentation.
  • Clean and disinfect all patient care areas in AIC.
  • Manage AIC supplies.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of and comply with all policies and procedures related to job duties.
Schedule
  • Must be able to manage the infusion suite independently when working and must be familiar running an infusion suite.
  • Must be able to work Per Diem, 8‑10 hours per week, Monday‑Friday between 8:30 am‑5 pm, varying days and hours.
  • Must be knowledgeable of IV access devices (IV lines, ports, and administration of infusion medications).
  • Must be licensed as an RN in the state of Indiana.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure by the applicable state’s Board of Nursing, in good standing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Advanced certification in specialty areas of practice (e.g. CRNI, ONS, IgRN) preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 3 years nursing experience with background in infusion therapy.
  • Current nursing license for applicable home state.
  • Provide administrative oversight, including monitoring of workflows, ensuring compliance with policies, and managing resources efficiently.
  • Be available to respond promptly to emergencies, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Experience in ICU and/or Cardiac Care preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license with no significant restrictions.
