Job Description

Machine Operator (Flexographic Press) – 3rd Shift

Operate a flexographic printing press producing custom and standard packaging materials. This role includes machine setup, print adjustments, quality checks, and preventive maintenance.

You will work on 3rd shift (10PM–6AM, Sunday–Thursday). Overtime is required based on production volume.

What You’ll Do
  • Set up and operate flexographic press equipment (ink, plates, die cutting stations)
  • Adjust shade, tone, hue, and print registration to meet customer specs
  • Run multiple production orders per shift
  • Inspect finished product for print accuracy and defects
  • Sort, label, and package finished goods for shipment
  • Mount printing plates and stage materials for setup
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Complete 5S and safety audits
  • Track production data in computer systems
  • Support equipment maintenance as needed

You will work independently and with a team of operators depending on the job.

Qualifications

What You Need

  • High School Diploma or GED or 3+ years manufacturing experience
  • Experience operating industrial equipment (printing press experience preferred)
  • Ability to work overtime, including short-notice shifts
  • Basic computer skills (production tracking systems)
  • Ability to lift production materials and stand for full 8-hour shift

If you have run presses, die cutters, laminators, slitters, or other converting equipment, this experience applies.

Physical Requirements
  • Movement:
    May require the ability to stand/walk for up to 80% of your shift, with frequent pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and squatting 50% of the time.
  • Lifting:
    May require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds 50% of your shift.
  • Environment:
    May require being comfortable working in an environment with varying temperatures.
