The Quality Inspector is a key member of the Quality team and will be involved in quality investigations, process improvement, and driving change throughout the Fort Wayne value stream. The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting a certain area or cells throughout the production line, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and entering data into QC2 and shop floor systems. The inspector must communicate effectively with all levels.

Functions
  • Ensure that the health and safety of all employees remains the number one goal
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Know all technical aspects of the respective area(s)
  • Provide training and support to production employees to ensure the highest level of productivity and quality
  • Plan and update the cross‑training matrix and other routine reports/metrics
  • Provide feedback to employees for safety, quality, and technical experience
  • Drive accountability to the desired metrics in the respective area(s)
  • Identify root cause of technical issues arising from the production line and work with team to implement solutions
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and collaborate with Process Techs and Value Stream Leads/Supervisors for implementation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • 1–3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required; 3–5 years in a technical role preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; good listener with ability to coach others
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations; OSHA certification preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Willingness to initiate and lead change
  • Results‑driven
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing
  • Ability to manage multiple products/projects/areas in a fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to use Windows‑based computers and MS Office
  • Self‑starter and detail‑oriented

Pay Range – $20.00–$28.00 per hour (actual base pay will vary based on qualifications and business needs).

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing and lifting heavy objects weighing 50 to 100 pounds, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing stairs, squatting, kneeling, and performing fine hand movements such as tightening screws. Specific vision requirements include close, peripheral, and ability to adjust focus. Environmental demands include working indoors and outdoors and being seasonally exposed to extreme temperatures.
