Enamel Operator

Overview

Position Overview The Enamel Wire Operator is responsible for using machines to apply enamel insulation to wires in accordance with manufacturers specifications and customer product orders.

• Rolls reel into jack, removes reels from payoff, reloads reel or basket.
• Welds wire ends together to feed machine. Applies insulation.
• Monitors machine process, stops reel when full and changes out, monitors processes and controls to assure quality.
• Maintains accurate inspection logs and reel labels.
• Sets up ovens and runs wire through machines.
• Uses and reads micrometers to measure wire, completes paperwork, records and enters data.
• Places completed reels in designated locations and communicates with supervisors and associates.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• Entry level

• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
• Ability to follow plant work rules, work instructions, safety rules and established processes, procedures & practices
• Maintain cleanliness of work area
• Ability to use tools including wire cutters, pliers, wrenches, hammer, micrometers, and computers

• Computer literate
