Description

Role and activity, safety, quality, and operational responsibilities are described below. The role participates in safety, quality control, plant citizenship, and a range of operational tasks to support inventory control, quality assurance, line reliability, damage reduction, and cost tracking systems.

Responsibilities
  • Safety: comply with all company safety policies and ensure personal safety and the safety of others at all times.
  • Quality: comply with GMPs; complete and document all food safety checks (HACCP) and product quality checks (MCP); actively participate in preventing and correcting quality-related errors.
  • Plant Citizenship and Interactions: communicate and interact in alignment with the company’s Grooves philosophy; participate in team meetings, committees, and task forces; follow attendance and other policies to maintain corrective-action-free status.
  • Operational: become proficient in multiple skill areas; support onboarding; lead problem solving within the unit and team; follow up on daily information; learn and train in various skills; complete required documentation to support inventory control, QA, line reliability, damage reduction, and cost tracking systems.
  • Hardener Operation: understand and operate hardeners under normal and evacuation conditions.
  • Bundling: operate bundlers, adjust equipment for quality wrap, and ensure proper materials are staged.
  • Palletizing: select pallet patterns by product; operate manual, semi-automatic, and automatic palletizing stations; operate stretch wrapping equipment; ensure product is properly palletized for storage and distribution.
  • Input Operator: identify SKUs for palletizing assignments; complete IMREX and Panel View transactions/reports; understand shuttle car and ASRS operations and correct errors; support ASRS inventory processes as needed.
  • Currie Auto Palletizer: understand Currie operations; program daily SKUs; manage lane releases; monitor Currie equipment performance and communicate with operators and maintenance; ensure product quality around Currie and manage rejects.
  • Shipping Coordinator: communicate with carriers and customers; coordinate with warehouses and logistics for order updates; enter and release orders in CC Software; maintain inventory levels for west-coast warehouses; manage lab hold and reject products; ship and confirm orders in IMREX daily; maintain pallet program and pallet reconciliation by carrier.
  • Sanitation: perform general sanitation; apply proper cleaning methods in hardening, bundling, and palletizing areas; conduct preventive maintenance and maintain an "inspection-ready" work area; follow cleaning procedures for equipment and non-product contact surfaces.
  • Measurable Outcomes: hygiene, GMP and safety audits; achievement of production targets; effective team interaction; implementation and maintenance of quality/improvement initiatives; de-kitting of the line.
Qualifications
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • One-year related experience preferred
Work Environment

Regularly work with others in a wet/humid environment and around mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment in a fast-paced setting; exposure to nuts and potential allergens; cold temperatures in some areas with required cold-protective PPE; standing, lifting, and walking in refrigerated zones; high noise levels; fast-paced, high-speed manufacturing with frequent line changes; repetitive tasks and long standing periods; compliance with food safety hygiene requirements (gloves, hairnets, etc.).

Compensation

The pay scale reflects various factors including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and business needs. This is an hourly position paying $20.40 per hour.
