Job SummaryAs a Belt Technician at Belt Power, LLC, you will be responsible for the fabrication and installation of conveyor belts and related products either in-house or at a customer site.
Duties / Responsibilities- Build / repair belts and conveyor belt components
- Install and vulcanize lightweight conveyor belting
- Receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies; maintain stock area, follows sales orders.
- Attention to detail.
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies.
- Perform duties to fabricate, install and repair conveyor belting.
- Work in a manner that ensures the safety of everyone involved. Exercise proper care in the use of tools and equipment.
- Detect and report defective equipment, material and any improper operations or unusual conditions.
- Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations; maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Always represent Belt Power in a professional manner.
- Required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Organization and prioritization skills; attention to detail.
- Strong mechanical background.
- Ability to interpret and verify precise measurements using a tape measure.
- Basic math skills and computer skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Adaptability to changing situations.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and work at heights and tight spaces.
- Overtime hours and weekend work may be required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Work is physically strenuous; workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds.
- Work may require excessive bending or stooping.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required.
- May involve travel.
- Employee required to sit and drive a vehicle to perform the job.
- Employee required to climb ladders.
- Employee required to use hand tools.
- Employee uses heavy machinery (e.g., forklift).
- Employee required to organize and coordinate schedules.
- Employee required to calibrate precise measurements.
- Employee required to problem solve.
- Ability and desire to quickly learn new processes and systems.
- Maintenance, belt tech experience preferred.
Work is generally performed in a fabrication shop environment. The noise level is moderately loud, well-ventilated and well lit. Shop employees may be required to wear protective clothing. Operation of heavy equipment and strict safety regulations are required.
Physical DemandsThe Belt Technician may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and will require manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet to manipulate equipment controls, tools, and other items used to make adjustments and/or minor maintenance. The worker will use hands, arms, back, and shoulders to handle, install, position, and move items. The position may require standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting for extended periods.
PositionType and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position in a shop. Typical workdays and hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with occasional weekend work.
Pay Range$18.00 - $19.00 an hour
