Job Summary:
As a Belt Technician at Belt Power, LLC., you will be responsible for the fabrication and installation of conveyor belts and related products either in-house or at a customer site.
- Build / repair belts and conveyor belt components
- Install and vulcanize lightweight conveyor belting
- Receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies; maintain stock area, follows sales orders
- Attention to detail
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition
- Pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies
- Perform duties to fabricate, install and repair conveyor belting
- Work in a manner that ensures the safety of everyone involved; exercise proper care in the use of tools and equipment
- Detect and report defective equipment, material and any improper operations or unusual conditions
- Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations; maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition
- Always represent Belt Power in a professional manner
- Required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- Other duties as assigned
- Organization and prioritization skills; attention to detail
- Strong mechanical background
- Ability to interpret and verify precise measurements using a tape measure
- Basic math skills and computer skills
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Adapt to changing situations
- Strong communication skills written and verbal
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights and tight spaces
- Overtime hours and weekend work may be required
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Work is physically strenuous; lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds
- Excessive bending or stooping may be required
- Overtime and weekend work may be required
- May involve travel
- Employee required to sit and drive a vehicle to perform the job
- Employee required to climb ladders
- Employee required to use hand tools
- Employee uses heavy machinery (e.g., forklift)
- Employee required to organize and coordinate schedules
- Employee required to calibrate precise measurements
- Employee required to problem solve
- Ability and desire to quickly learn new processes and systems
- Maintenance, belt tech experience preferred
Work is generally performed in a fabrication shop environment. The noise level is moderately loud. Generally well-ventilated and well-lit. Shop employees may be required to wear protective clothing. Operation of heavy equipment and strict safety regulations are required.
Physical DemandsThe Belt Technician may lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and will require manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet to manipulate equipment controls, tools, and other items used to make adjustments and / or minor maintenance. Will use hands, arms, back, and shoulders to handle, install, position, move items, and manipulate other objects. Could be in a standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting position for long periods of time.
PositionType And Expected Hours Of Work
This is a full-time position in a shop. Typical workdays and hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with occasional weekend work.
Pay Range: $18.00 - $19.00 an hour
