Studio at Main Supervisor

The Studio at Main is ACPL's flagship maker space-a place where community members record podcasts, print 3D models, digitize memories, design with vinyl cutters, and learn new skills through hands‑on workshops. We're looking for a thoughtful, organized, and people-first Supervisor to lead the space, guide the team, and keep the creative energy flowing.

This role blends leadership, project management, technology, and public service. You'll oversee daily operations, support and develop staff, coordinate engaging programs, and collaborate across the library system to ensure The Studio stays welcoming, innovative, and responsive to community needs.

You’ll serve as the go‑to leader for The Studio at Main, with responsibility for:

• Overseeing daily operations, including customer service, equipment, spaces, scheduling, and safety

• Developing procedures and training to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment

• Supervising, scheduling, and evaluating Studio staff, interns, and volunteers; contributing to hiring recommendations

• Coordinating and reviewing Studio‑related work of staff from other departments assigned to the space

• Leading the development, implementation, and continual improvement of Studio services, systems, and programs

• Planning and supporting workshops, classes, and outreach that respond to community interests

• Managing equipment and technology (audio recording booth, 3D printers, vinyl cutters, digitizing tools, and more), including purchasing, maintenance, and troubleshooting

• Collaborating with colleagues across the system on projects, partnerships, and grant requirements

• Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and library policies

• Experience leading or coordinating staff or teams

• Background in educational programming, training, or community engagement

• Strong project management and organizational skills

• Comfort working with or learning creative technologies and maker equipment

• Ability to troubleshoot, prioritize, and adapt in a busy, public‑facing environment

• A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working across departments

• Commitment to excellent customer service and inclusive spaces
