Repair and Tool Technician

Repair and Tool Technician at The Home Depot — evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices. This role includes making equipment recommendations, maintaining units, and serving customers in Tool Rental Centers in-store or in repair centers. In-store duties include assisting customers, writing rental and repair contracts and invoices, verifying tool operation, and demonstrating proper use as needed.

Non-store locations require repair, testing for quality, cleaning before returning to the store. Technicians must have thorough knowledge of tools and manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools.

• Evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices.
• Provide equipment recommendations and ensure units are maintained.
• Work in stores with Tool Rental Centers and in repair centers; in-store duties include serving customers in Tool Rental, writing customer contracts and invoices for rentals and repairs, verifying tool operation, and demonstrating proper use as needed.
• Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the Tool Rental department.
• In non-store locations, ensure units are repaired, tested for repair quality, and cleaned prior to returning to the originating store.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of all tools and effectively manage the tool inventory by repairing and maintaining tools as necessary.

• Strong knowledge of tools and ability to repair and maintain equipment.
• Ability to communicate with customers and document contracts and invoices; demonstrate proper tool use.
• Experience in a retail environment or Tool Rental Center preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in both store and non-store environments.
