Summary
The Co-worker Relations Specialist role proactively resolves workplace conflicts, co-worker grievances, and plays a critical role in risk mitigation. Fosters positive relationships between co-workers and management within Parkview Health. As a strategic and trusted advisor, is responsible for managing co-worker relations cases, promoting a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and Parkview policies. As a key partner to HR Operations, Legal, and leadership teams, plays an important role in building a culture of consistency, respect, accountability, and engagement.
Leads investigations of claims of misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and policy violations, including responding to EEOC charges. Responsible for providing advice to leaders on corrective actions, ensuring they are handled legally, ethically and consistent with similar situations in applying policies and procedures. Designs and implements training, education, performance improvement plans and terminations, providing guidance and support to leaders. Responsible for proposing solutions, and creating or recommending Standard Operating Procedures.
Leads or coordinates HR projects that benefit the team or organization, builds strong relationships with assigned leaders for guidance and partnership, and identifies education needs to develop and present training content. Additionally, is adaptable in ambiguous situations, offers support for leadership development, and serves as the main point of contact for both co-workers and leaders, answering questions, listening to concerns, and providing guidance for next steps.
Partners with all areas of the HR Division to ensure exceptional service for both co-workers and leaders. Is familiar with both state and federal compliance requirements to ensure Parkview meets these standards.
Must have Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
Licensure/CertificationAddendums are required for 0153 Nurse Leader, 0249 Registry RN, 0252 Registered Nurse, 0235 Advanced Registered Nurse, and 0236 Expert Registered Nurse. To view addendums, go to the job description page on Parkview’s intranet.
Experience5+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations, case management, training, investigations, onboarding and offboarding.
Other QualificationsRequires knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and workplace regulatory frameworks (e.g., Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, FCRA, etc.) as well as Parkview s procedures for Worker s Compensation claims and return-to-work following a leave of absence. High degree of professional ethics and integrity. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and sound judgment.
High degree of computer literacy and skill.
