Purpose

Perform a variety of specialized human resources activities involved in the recruitment of teachers, administrators and other classified candidates. Responsible for recruiting, interviewing and screening applicants to fill district vacancies through the development of local, regional and national recruiting plans. Develop and maintain effective recruitment strategies and relationships, ensuring a continual flow of qualified candidates to the school district.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least five years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in social media recruitment and a successful track record with online recruitment, strongly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR or SHRM-SCP, SPHR preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Must possess knowledge of the technical aspects, methods, processes, principles, practices, procedures and terminology used in assigned field.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license - local, regional and national travel is required.
Essential Functions
  • Develop an annual strategic recruitment plan to achieve desired staffing levels and facilitate and implement all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Organize, plan, develop and maintain sources of qualified candidates. Develop and maintain professional relationships with colleges, universities, placement offices and others to generate flow of qualified applicants; schedule and attend job/career fairs with appropriate staff.
  • Collaborate with business community and others to develop and implement processes that can help assist the district in recruitment of qualified candidates for all positions.
  • Schedules, screens and conducts initial interviews to determine and refer qualified applicants for further consideration.
  • Researches, identifies and implements innovative ways for advertising job opportunities with online recruiting agencies, professional organizations, and other appropriate venues with a budget-conscious mindset.
  • Conducts follow-up with leadership on a regular basis, in order to determine the effectiveness of the recruiting plans and implementation.
  • Assists in promoting a recognizable “employer of choice” reputation for the district.
  • Collaborates with the HR team to ensure smooth transition from candidacy to hire.
  • Researches, compiles and assembles a variety of data and statistical information; prepare and maintain a variety of records, reports and files related to recruitment, personnel, classification, compensation, and other assigned activities. Compiles information and prepares, maintains and distributes records, logs and reports in accordance with established policies and regulations and time frames.
  • Creates, leads, and implements a “Recruitment Team” that will consist of Principals, Administrators and other HR Staff, who will visit various career fairs and campus recruitment events throughout the year.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Performs related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the district.

    Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to twenty (25) pounds or more.
  • Outdoor Work:
    Tolerance of work outside in various weather conditions.
  • Working Conditions:

    School-based assignments with possible travel between buildings. Frequent interactions with students with significant behavioral needs. May involve supporting students in crisis situations in accordance with FWCS guidelines.
