Job SummaryThe HR Manager is responsible for leading all human resources functions at the manufacturing facility, supporting hourly and salaried employees while partnering closely with plant leadership to drive workforce effectiveness, compliance, and employee engagement. This role serves as a trusted advisor to management and ensures HR practices align with operational and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all on-site HR functions, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding
- Partner with plant leadership to support workforce planning, staffing strategies, and organizational development
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, company policies, and safety regulations
- Manage hourly and salaried hiring processes, including collaboration with recruiters and hiring managers
- Oversee training initiatives, including compliance training, leadership development, and hourly workforce training
- Support compensation, benefits administration, and payroll coordination
- Lead performance review cycles and support talent development and succession planning
- Manage HR metrics and reporting (turnover, absenteeism, headcount, engagement)
- Support labor relations activities, if applicable (union or non-union environment)
- Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive work environment aligned with company values
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- Minimum of 5–8 years of HR experience, with 3+ years in an HR leadership or manager role
- Prior experience supporting a manufacturing or industrial facility
- Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR best practices
- Experience working with hourly work forces and production schedules
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
- Experience in unionized manufacturing environments
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
- Experience supporting multi-shift or 24/7 operations
- Strong change management and communication skills
