Position: Activities Coordinator (Evenings + Weekends) - Pine Valley

Part‑time: evenings & weekends ~ 20 hours per week.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop, implement, and oversee campus recreational programming that enhances the social, occupational, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical well‑being of residents.
  • Welcome new residents, introduce them to the activity program, assess individual interests and needs, and collaborate with neighborhood and activity staff to create personalized activity plans.
  • Coordinate, produce, and distribute monthly activity calendars for residents in Nursing.
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate group activities, parties, special events, and community outings.
  • Coordinate campus holiday decorations with assistance from staff.
  • Procure and manage supplies and materials for seasonal crafts, recreation, and scheduled activities; maintain shopping lists for activity supplies and resident personal needs as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including quarterly activity documentation, care plans, attendance records, and one‑on‑one interactions.
  • Attend weekly resident care review meetings and provide insight into resident engagement and activity participation.
  • Develop and implement activity‑related policies and procedures as needed.
  • Participate in continuing education to maintain certifications and introduce new and innovative programming.
Compliance & Quality Support
  • Ensure departmental compliance with federal and state regulations, with a primary focus on Skilled Nursing Facility requirements.
  • Assist with survey preparation and participate in annual and complaint surveys conducted by ISDH and other regulatory agencies.
  • Identify and report areas of potential deficiency to the Administrator or designee.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Wellness and Activities.
Qualifications
  • Education & Certification:
    Indiana State Board of Health–approved Activity Director Certification preferred.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of two (2) years of experience in recreation, activities, or wellness programming.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect meaningfully with residents, families, and team members.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging, resident‑centered programs.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, documentation, and multiple activities.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal regulations related to activities programming in long‑term care, particularly Skilled Nursing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary, mission‑driven team.
