Primary Responsibilities- Lead and ensure excellence in quality care by providing leadership and oversight to all operational departments.
- Conduct all job responsibilities in accordance with TLC Management’s Code of Business Conduct and applicable federal/state laws and professional standards.
- Be familiar with all operational details, providing direction to each department head and responding to their needs.
- Act as the final decision maker for the facility’s department heads and supervisory team, encouraging collaborative discussions.
- Collaborate with DON and Nursing Leadership staff to ensure timely, safe delivery of quality patient care.
- Strive to achieve zero in‑house acquired wounds through daily monitoring of skin care.
- Practice motivational leadership techniques, set an example of integrity and work ethic, and serve as a facility role model.
- Develop and implement corrective action from the annual family satisfaction survey.
- Develop the management team through compassion and accountability.
- Perform annual and periodic performance monitoring for all direct reports, documenting evaluations, verbal counseling, and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain records, implement systems, and ensure overall compliance with administrative requirements of TLC management.
- Utilize financial reports, create and execute facility budgets.
- Communicate personally with residents, families, facility personnel, physicians, medical establishments, and outside agencies.
- Holding a B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited college or university.
- Licensure as a Health Facility Administrator (HFA) in the state of employment; or willingness to obtain temporary licensure and pass the exam if licensed elsewhere.
- Administrative, interpersonal, and managerial skills such as:
- Passion for organizing and creating a positive atmosphere.
- Passion for implementing activities and programs of all kinds.
- Ability to make independent decisions and remain calm during emergencies.
- Basic mathematical processing skills and understanding of complicated budgets.
- Tactful dealing with personnel, residents, families, visitors, and the public.
- Knowledge of administrative practices, procedures, and guidelines.
- Discretion in protecting confidential information in compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations.
- Patience, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle residents of various maturity and physical levels.
- Adherence to professional code of ethics and moral conduct in and outside the facility.
- Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, e‑mail, faxes, copiers).
- At least 3 years of previous experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity within a nursing home or long‑term care organization.
- Experience maximizing revenues through private pay, Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care.
