Direct Support Professional

It is the responsibility of the DSP to provide the highest quality Participant Assistance and Care (PAC) services to clients as they work one-on-one in the home and/or in the community to help them achieve their goals, ensuring that Partners in Autism, IN-FSSA, and accreditation standards are being met.

Duties and Responsibilities
:

• Maintain Partners in Autism’s company culture standards and best practices
• Work with PAC clients one-on-one in the home and/or in the community to help them achieve their goals
• Meet with and/or transport PAC clients in a timely, respectful manner
• Provide supports to the client and their family/guardian
• Make sure the Individual Support Plan for PAC services, as outlined by Partners in Autism and IN-FSSA, are being completed for each client
• Fill out all required paperwork properly and on-time
• Work with the Director of Waiver Services to ensure quality records are being maintained

Must be at least 18 years of age

High School Diploma

Must pass a thorough background check

Must complete DSP trainings, including job shadows, prior to working alone with clients

Preferred experience working with individuals with special needs, especially with individuals on the autism spectrum

Must have a valid Driver’s License and proof of vehicle insurance that covers personal injury, loss of life, and property damage

Must have the ability to work with modern technology/office equipment, use current operating systems, and be able to communicate effectively with technology

Must complete all company orientations and Health & Safety Training

Must have a current CPR/First Aid/AED with hands‑on certification and TB screening

Physical Requirements
:

Must be able to meet client PAC needs, which can change based on the environment and may include physical bending, stooping and lifting of over 50 lbs, standing or sitting for long periods of time, and repetitive actions.
