Overview
Assistant Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) role at Lutheran Health Network (Dupont Hospital). Dupont Hospital is a 131-bed acute care hospital accredited by The Joint Commission, offering cardiology, women's health, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, and emergency care services to more than 100,000 patients annually. The ACEO participates in operational decision-making to support the hospital's mission and may have Ancillary department leadership responsibilities in addition to operational projects.
Responsibilities- Assist the CEO in developing and implementing hospital-wide strategic goals and initiatives.
- Serve as a key advisor to the CEO on hospital operations, strategic planning, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with the CEO and other executives to align hospital goals with organizational priorities.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of hospital departments, including clinical, administrative, and support functions.
- Assist in managing hospital resources (personnel, facilities, equipment, and technology) to optimize operational efficiency and quality of care.
- Support the CEO in developing and executing long-term strategic plans and goals for the hospital, including growth, service expansion, and quality improvement.
- Coordinate with department heads and senior management to identify areas for operational and clinical improvements.
- Assist in the preparation and oversight of the hospital’s budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across departments.
- Monitor financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and collaborate with the CFO and finance team to optimize the hospital's financial health.
- Support the recruitment, retention, and development of senior leadership and key staff across hospital departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), or a related field required.
- 7-9 years of progressive leadership experience in hospital or healthcare administration, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.

- Experience in leading cross-functional teams, managing hospital operations, and implementing strategic initiatives.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, motivate, and lead a diverse team.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with experience in developing and executing organizational goals.
- Expertise in hospital operations, budgeting, quality improvement, and patient safety.
- High level of emotional intelligence and cultural competency to navigate complex, dynamic environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage change effectively and drive organizational transformation.
