We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Design Engineer to join our team in developing high-end architectural and decorative lighting products. The ideal candidate will combine strong engineering expertise with an eye for aesthetics, ensuring designs are both functional and visually striking. This role requires close collaboration with industrial designers, product managers, and manufacturing teams to bring innovative lighting concepts from concept to production.

What you’ll do:- Design and develop premium lighting products, balancing aesthetics, performance, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with industrial designers and architects to transform concept sketches into engineered solutions.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and BOMs.
- Select and integrate LED light sources, drivers, optics, materials, and finishes that meet performance and design goals.
- Conduct thermal, electrical, and mechanical analysis to ensure safety, durability, and compliance with standards.
- Work with suppliers to source premium materials and components aligned with luxury brand standards.
- Support UL/ETL compliance testing and collaborate with compliance engineers to meet certification requirements.
- Oversee prototype builds, testing, and design validation to ensure design intent and quality standards are met.
- Partner with manufacturing and supply chain to ensure designs are optimized for production and cost targets.
- Stay current with emerging lighting technologies, trends, and materials in the luxury and architectural design markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in product design engineering, preferably in architectural or high‑end lighting.
- Experience working with LED systems, optics, drivers, and control systems (DMX, DALI, smart lighting, etc.).
Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works, Creo, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes (metal fabrication, casting, extrusion, injection molding, glass, etc.).
- Familiarity with UL/ETL, CE, RoHS, and other relevant compliance standards.
- Understanding of thermal management, optical design, and electrical integration in lighting systems.
- Strong sense of aesthetics and design detail suitable for luxury products.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Innovative thinker with problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in luxury or architectural product development.
- Knowledge of lighting controls and smart lighting technologies.
- Experience managing projects from concept through manufacturing release.
- Familiarity with photometric testing and lighting design software (AGi
32, Dialux, etc.).
