Summary
The Engineering Manager leads a team of engineers and designers supporting a diverse portfolio of RV-related products including powered/manual entry steps, cargo systems, hitches, seating frames, ramp doors, patio kits, pinboxes, and chassis assemblies.
This leader drives product development from concept through production, while also supporting VAVE and continuous improvement initiatives across existing product lines. The role requires a forward-thinking, innovation-driven leader who can align engineering priorities with business objectives and deliver results with urgency and accountability.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and CAD designers
- Drive new product development from concept, prototype, validation, and launch
- Align engineering priorities with business strategy and product roadmaps
- Partner cross-functionally with product management, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers
- Oversee DFMEA, PFMEA, risk analysis, and engineering standards
- Ensure robust testing and system-level performance validation
- Support VAVE and continuous improvement efforts for existing products
- Guide design for manufacturability and efficient assembly methods
- Review quality, warranty, and field performance data to drive permanent solutions
- Present technical concepts and updates to leadership and stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
- 8+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years leading and developing engineering teams
- Strong communication and leadership capability
- Experience in manufacturing-driven product environments
- Engineering leadership and talent development
- Strong business acumen and strategic alignment
- Mechanical and electromechanical system design expertise
- Materials and manufacturing process knowledge
- GD&T proficiency and tolerance stack-up capability
- DFMEA / PFMEA and structured risk analysis
- Data-driven problem solving
- Product lifecycle management
- Primarily office-based
- Extended computer use
- Regular collaboration with production and cross-functional teams
Direct oversight of Engineers and CAD Designers.
