Sustain and improve existing manufacturing processes for Harris pontoon boats. Support new product introductions and influence designs to improve manufacturability.
Essential Functions- Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in the new product development (NPD) process to ensure the product design incorporates design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Lead manufacturing readiness activities in preparation for new product introduction (NPI).
- Identify, design and implement new fixtures and tools to improve quality, reduce scrap, and improve throughput.
- Analyze throughput of production lines and implement improvements using time studies, line balancing, and other lean manufacturing methods.
- Create and maintain process documentation including work instructions and labor standards for various manufacturing areas.
- Help support and improve plant safety and ergonomic programs.
- Create, maintain and improve plant floor and manufacturing area layout drawings.
- Identify and lead capital projects including cost justification, procurement, project management, and implementation.
- Act as liaison between manufacturing, product engineering and other departments.
- Communicate effectively to management, peers, operators, and conduct training as needed.
- Ensure projects are completed on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 8+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role; trade/vocational education preferred but not required.
- Factory experience involving assembly of a mechanical product.
- Experience justifying and leading capital equipment projects.
- 3D CAD experience required;
Solid Works preferred. - Strong computer skills including MS‑Office (specifically strong Excel skills).
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving, innovation, team participation, and self‑motivation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- 2+ years’ experience in a technical role supporting the assembly of a mechanical product.
- Experience justifying and leading capital equipment projects desired.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving, innovation, team participation, and self‑motivation.
- Experience applying lean manufacturing principles with a proven track record of success.
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Experience with lean Six Sigma and root cause determination tools such as DMAIC, 5‑Why, 8‑D, and 5S.
- Experience leading Kaizen events.
- Demonstrated use of PFMEA to be proactive in improving manufacturing processes.
- Experience with new product introduction processes.
Frequent standing and lifting of heavy objects weighing 50 to 100 pounds. Frequent walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, squatting, kneeling, stair climbing, and fine hand movements such as tightening screws, bolts, and securing pins. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Environmental demands include working both indoors and outdoors and being seasonally exposed to extreme temperatures.

CompensationThe anticipated pay range for this position is $84,500 – $123,900 annually
