Job Overview
Senior Systems Engineer at Raytheon, onsite in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance.
What You Will Do- Analyze, develop, and implement engineering solutions for complex systems operating under moderate technical uncertainty
- Assess the customer’s architectural needs and desired capabilities and participate in requirements decomposition to ensure appropriate allocation of technical architecture elements
- Create innovative solutions to complex technical challenges in signal processing design
- Design, modify, and/or test existing electronic warfare signal‑processing and control algorithms, along with the associated system software
- Develop and execute test plans, including test simulations and lab tests to verify system capability
- Evaluate and assess functional performance of developmental RF systems, including signal processing subsystems, software, and/or firmware/control algorithms
- Support bid and proposal efforts by providing accurate labor estimations and material cost estimations
- Maintain organized workflows, documentation, and processes to support team operations
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, design reviews, and test result briefings to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Typical Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant systems engineering experience
- RF system design, digital and analog signal processing, waveform and modulation analysis, and algorithm development, implementation, and testing
- Knowledge defining system architectures, including requirements derivation, allocation, traceability, and configuration management
- Experience with developing system models, simulations, and analytical tools to evaluate, predict, and optimize system performance
- Ability to support occasional business travel (20% or less)
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility
- Familiarity with development, implementation, and test of RF jamming algorithms
- MATLAB, Python, C++, Path Wave ADS, AMD Vivado, and/or Path Wave EMPro for simulation and design of RF systems
- RF receiver/exciter product design, development, and/or test experience in electronic warfare systems
- Embedded systems and embedded programming
- Experience implementing digital signal processing solutions on embedded processors and digital hardware
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools (e.g., Cameo or similar)
- Knowledge of DOORS for requirements management
