AAM – American Axle & Manufacturing is seeking a Mechanical Engineering College Co‑Op to work at our Fort Wayne, IN facility. This role is designed for full‑time, year‑round students who will work approximately 25 hours per week and contribute to manufacturing process improvements.

AAM is seeking a Mechanical Engineering College Co‑Op at our Fort Wayne, IN facility. In this role, students will implement manufacturing techniques, processes, tooling, and machinery to maximize throughput. Establish control charting of critical features and processes; monitor results and determine machine and process capabilities and performance reliability. Manage the implementation of new processes, selection of equipment to be purchased, and time estimates.

Identify optimal tooling for machining. Resolve issues with design, manufacturability, or build sequences.

• Develop and evaluate manufacturing processes and requirements.
• Monitor equipment installations and advise crews.
• Meet production requirements by designing equipment modifications as needed.
• Prepare equipment operators by conducting training; provide reference and support resources.
• Maintain process integrity by developing and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines.
• Maintain equipment records by filing documents and updating the equipment database.
• Protect organizational value by keeping information confidential and cautioning others of potential breaches.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Pursuing a full‑time degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Available to work 25 hours per week year‑round.
• Graduation date of 2027 or earlier.
• Must be able to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
