Additional responsibilities include participating in IUSM‑FW’s Scholarly Concentration program in Health Care Integration and Healthy Aging and contributing to the service mission of the school. An active research program is not a requirement for the positions, but the ability to engage in scholarship that mentors students, preferably in the areas of basic science or medical education, will be considered a plus.

Faculty must be highly collaborative and eager to work in interdisciplinary teams across fields and participate in the entire educational mission of the department. Opportunities exist for collaborations in course development across the School of Medicine including the areas of anatomy, physiology, embryology, histology, and neuroanatomy.

The successful applicant will have opportunities to engage in relevant service opportunities with the department and school. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis; start dates are flexible.

A multitude of housing options (newer downtown apartment/condominium developments, older homes in mature tree‑lined neighborhoods, traditional suburbs, and even acres of farmland or woodland) are available and all within a 20‑minute drive of campus.

Fort Wayne is home to excellent schools (public, private, and parochial), local colleges and universities, cultural attractions (Embassy Theater, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Fort Wayne Zoo, Three Rivers Festival, excellent restaurants, among many others), and a variety of minor league sports teams (baseball, soccer, and hockey).
