Interim Principal - Elementary

Position Overview

Covington Elementary School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated interim principal to lead our school community through the end of the 2025–26 school year. This role will involve overseeing daily school operations, supporting staff and students, and maintaining a positive and effective learning environment. The interim principal will work closely with faculty, parents, and district leadership to ensure continuity and excellence in education.

• Provide leadership and administrative oversight for all school operations.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive school climate.
• Support and guide teachers and staff, ensuring alignment with district policies and educational standards.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and the broader school community.
• Address any immediate issues or challenges that arise and ensure a smooth transition once a permanent principal is appointed.

• Valid Indiana administrative license (or eligibility for one).
• Previous experience in educational leadership, preferably at the elementary level.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
