Job Overview

Customer Service Specialists at TEKsystems support patients by interacting with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure accurate order creation, scheduling, and equipment delivery. The role is a Contract to Hire position based in Fort Wayne, IN, with training provided by management and a work schedule of Monday‑Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm with a one‑hour lunch break.

Responsibilities
  • Answer inbound calls and emails and make outbound calls to patients, providers, and insurance companies.
  • Obtain, analyze, and verify information from referrals and create orders or schedule patients for equipment as directed by their physician.
  • Process orders, route calls to the appropriate resources, and follow up on customer calls.
  • Adhere to response time goals and ensure all customer inquiries are addressed promptly.
  • Participate in ongoing training to learn medical equipment and the organization’s computer system.
  • Perform on‑call duties once fully trained and independent.
Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong verbal and written communication ability.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Decision‑making ability and the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and an aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑changing environment.
  • Understanding of HIPAA laws and medical terminology.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in health‑care administration, financial or insurance customer service, claims, billing, call center or management.
  • Entry level; suitable for candidates with no prior experience in medical customer service.

The pay range for this position is $18.00–$20.00 /hr. Benefits for the temporary role may include:
