circle logistics is looking for a hands‑on, results‑driven leader to build and manage our refrigerated carrier sales team. This person will oversee a group of carrier sales representatives, driving performance, strengthening carrier relationships, and owning our reefer capacity strategy across key temperature‑controlled lanes. The ideal candidate brings deep refrigerated freight expertise, strong negotiation skills, and a proven ability to develop talent in a fast‑paced brokerage environment.
This is a high‑impact leadership role for someone who thrives on margin protection, service excellence, and building a best‑in‑class reefer network that supports both new business growth and operational stability.
- directly manage and coach a team of 3–6 carrier sales representatives
- conduct weekly 1:1s, performance reviews, and call coaching
- develop team members in:
- lane strategy
- margin protection
- reefer market knowledge
- build bench strength and help identify future leaders
- oversee procurement of refrigerated and temperature‑controlled capacity
- develop core carrier networks in key reefer lanes
- ensure coverage for:
- produce
- monitor seasonal market shifts (produce seasons, holiday surges, weather events)
hold the team accountable to metrics such as:
- on‑time pickup and delivery performance
- tender acceptance rates
- load coverage time
- margin targets on reefer freight
- build high‑level relationships with key refrigerated carriers
- negotiate pricing agreements and mini‑bids
- visit strategic carriers when needed
- ensure compliance with:
- temperature requirements
- food safety standards (fsma awareness)
- tracking & visibility expectations
- work closely with customer sales / account managers to:
- support new business wins
- create backup capacity strategies
- partner with operations on service recovery and claims prevention
- train team on:
- reefer breakdown response
- drive adoption of tracking tools and visibility platforms
- 3+ years of freight brokerage experience
- 2+ years in reefer or temperature‑controlled freight preferred
- prior leadership or mentorship experience strongly preferred
- strong negotiation and market knowledge in refrigerated freight
- proven ability to manage high‑pressure, time‑sensitive shipments
- comfortable working in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment
