Location:

Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska. This is a full-time W-2 position with commensurate benefits.

Job Overview

Provide administrative and data entry support for the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) in the DoD/Military sector, focusing on services for clients such as the Military and Family Readiness Office (M&FR) | U.S. Air Force - Department of Defense (DoD), located in Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska, and across the Midwest Region. The TAP is a DoD initiative to assist service members transitioning from active duty to civilian life by providing resources, training, and support for successful civilian employment and life transitions.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Apply basic principles, concepts, and practices of administration for the Transition Assistance Program (TAP).
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Conduct research and data collection to prepare reports and respond to inquiries.
  • Retrieve, analyze, and propose solutions based on reports and data.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Administer timely input of Congressionally mandated TAP documentation.
  • Review administrative guidance and policies.
  • Scan, upload, and maintain electronic records; document customer and program information in relevant systems.
  • Act as a point of contact for TAP information and maintain professional partnerships.
  • Register customers for TAP briefings and answer inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Maintain inventory of program materials and record attendance for TAP workshops; track TAP forms.

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications (DEA

  • Associate’s Degree or at least 3 years of experience in a military or government environment (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • At least one year of clerical or data entry experience; TAP experience preferred.
  • Effective English communication skills.

Education / Experience / Skills

  • Education:

    Associate’s Degree required;
    Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 3 years in a military/government environment or relevant clerical/data entry experience.
  • Skills:

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office; TAP familiarity preferred.
  • Security: US citizenship; ability to meet security requirements (SF-86 or equivalent).

Skills

  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Power Automate); familiarity with Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and manage data accurately.

Additional Requirements

  • Business tools proficiency including advanced Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word; familiarity with data analytic tools and Visio; ability to learn new tools quickly.
