Overview
Adventist Health Care is a faith‑based organization with over a century of caring in Maryland, recognized as the largest provider in Montgomery County. The 12‑month Nurse Residency Program is a structured transition from college to professional nursing practice, culminating in a permanent RN role after a minimum one‑year unit commitment.
Responsibilities- Attend all assigned learning activities and clinical experiences; arrive on time and prepared.
- Complete all clinical and classroom assignments, maintaining an 80% minimum passing grade.
- Rotate shifts per program or preceptor schedule.
- Assume personal cost for required books, materials, equipment, and transportation.
- Collaborate closely with preceptor, CNS, educators, and program coordinator to maximize learning.
- Participate in regular evaluation sessions to provide and receive feedback on personal performance and the Residency Program.
- Submit competency documentation and complete an evidence‑based practice project before program completion.
- Graduate from an accredited ASN, BSN, or MSN program within 12 months of cohort start date.
- Licensed RN in Maryland or a compact state, with valid BLS certification.
- No prior RN or LPN experience required.
- GPA of 2.75 or higher preferred.
- ACLS certification obtainable after employment for certain units.
- Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a multitasking environment.
- Proficient computer skills.
