Position Summary:

Assistant Managers support the Store Manager and other team members in delivering an exceptional guest shopping experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the store team’s Guest Service behaviors, providing coaching to ensure greeting all guests in a friendly manner to make them feel welcomed, appreciated, and always “make it right” for our guests.
  • Support the Store Manager in building and developing a strong team through effective training, scheduling, coaching, and fostering a positive working environment that promotes engagement and reflects the Company values.
  • Partner with Store Manager to achieve operational excellence and meet financial goals on store promotions, sales, and controls.
  • Assist with maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the store (inside and out), ensuring the coffee station, food service area, and bathrooms meet cleanliness standards, delegating tasks as needed.
  • Assist with quality control, merchandising, safety programs, and other guidelines for successful food service operations. Monitor product levels, rotate stock, and ensure 100% in-stock levels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Person in Charge in their absence.
  • Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Additional Information:

Working Relationships: Store team members, Store Manager, District Manager, corporate personnel, vendors.

Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED.

Minimum Experience: 1 year retail or food experience; completion of Assistant Manager Training program required before role assignment.

Preferred Experience: 1-2 years in retail, guest service, or restaurant leadership roles.

Certifications: Serv Safe/Food Safety certification is a plus but not mandatory.

Skills and

Soft Skills:
  • Comfortable interacting with guests and team members.
  • High energy and adaptability.
  • Team-oriented; willing to put in extra effort.
  • Computer skills are helpful.
Scheduling and

Conditions:

Primarily scheduled on second shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Full-time position (up to 40 hours). Travel of 5-10% for store coverage and meetings. Must have own vehicle for deposits if applicable.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 40 pounds occasionally. Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours, reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, and work in cooler temperatures. Moderate noise level.

Other:

Required specialized attire in food establishments (hats, gloves, etc., provided).
