About the Role

Join our Med Surg Neuro team as a Registered Nurse (RN) and play a key role in delivering high-quality care to patients with neurological and medical-surgical needs. This is a fast-paced unit at a Level II Trauma Center where you will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic, compassionate care. With 30 beds and a dedicated team of 29+ FTEs, this department fosters a collaborative environment focused on clinical excellence and patient safety.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Monitor patient progress and administer medications and treatments per provider orders
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate care delivery
  • Advocate for patients and ensure patient-centered care throughout their hospital stay
  • Educate patients and families on medications, conditions, and discharge plans
  • Utilize clinical tools such as the NIH Stroke Scale and electronic documentation systems
  • Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and compliance with hospital protocols
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate nursing documentation and reports
Requirements
  • Active RN license in Florida (or Compact License with ability to obtain FL within 60 days)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience
  • Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
  • BLS (AHA) required prior to start
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 30 days of hire
