HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is a 267-bed hospital. We are a top-performing quality hospital with physicians in the Tri-County area. We offer an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, a Cancer Care Center, and advanced care for critically ill patients, including emergency services at our main ER, a pediatric ER, and two freestanding ERs. We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. Your primary function is to efficiently and safely obtain appropriate blood samples from patients for laboratory procedures and proper sample processing, working with a team that cares like family and collaborates closely.

• Properly collect and process specimens for in-house and reference laboratory testing.
• Maintain strict safety and infection control techniques at all times.
• Identify patients and their personal information by reviewing identity documents.
• Analyze blood specimens using correct testing equipment when necessary.
• Prepare specimens for transportation, including labeling vials accurately and matching blood specimens to patients.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment used in drawing and testing blood specimens.
• Order laboratory supplies as needed.
• Practice, develop, and endorse customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers.

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Annual BLS required
• Phlebotomy experience preferred
• Successful completion of phlebotomy training program
