Under general supervision, operates CT equipment, positions patients to produce diagnostic radiographs in a safe manner and performs related duties.

• Operates CT equipment to make radiographs and scans of designated body portions, adjusting equipment and patient positions, and instructing patients.
• Performs reconstruction and special processing (CT Angio), evaluates completed radiographs/scans for positioning, technique, and adequacy.
• Observes patients, provides first aid, and communicates with physicians when needed.
• Ensures all exams are entered properly, edited as required, and verified for the radiologist.
• Records and maintains exam information in CT log.
• Records radiation dose into Meditech and reports outliers as required.
• Performs QC functions as required.
• Documents all medications used in the EMAR.
• Receives verbal orders for examinations from a responsible practitioner in accordance with state licensing.
• Demonstrates customer principles and behaviors appropriately.
• Reviews current developments in diagnostic CT techniques, complete educational requirements annually.
• Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross‑contamination; maintains orderliness and cleanliness.
• Reviews patient chart for pertinent clinical history and documents for the radiologist.
• Adheres to prescribed standards of radiation safety and participates in quality improvement and safety programs.
• Records hours worked in accordance with hospital policy.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support, obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Radiographer (ARRT) required; CT certification required within 12 months of hire.
• State of Florida Registered Radiologic Technologist.
• Associate Degree in Radiological Technology.
