Fire Sprinkler Sales Estimator - New Construction
This role is an experienced Fire Sprinkler Sales Estimator specializing in new construction projects to support business growth through accurate estimating, proposal development, and relationship-driven sales. The role is responsible for evaluating project specifications, preparing competitive bids, and working closely with general contractors, developers, and internal design/operations teams to secure new work.
Key Responsibilities- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents for new construction fire sprinkler projects
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates (labor, material, equipment, subcontractors)
- Prepare accurate, competitive proposals and bid packages
- Price and sell fire sprinkler systems in compliance with NFPA and local AHJ requirements
- Collaborate with design, project management, and operations teams to ensure smooth project handoff
- Communicate with general contractors, developers, engineers, and owners throughout the bid process
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and scope reviews as required
- Track bid activity, follow up on proposals, and negotiate pricing and scope
- Maintain strong knowledge of market conditions, material pricing, and labor trends
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships to drive repeat business
- 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler estimating and/or sales (new construction preferred)
- Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, fire sprinkler systems, and construction processes
- Experience reading blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Proficiency with estimating software and tools (Hydra
CAD, AutoSPRINK, Quick Bid, or similar) - Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
- Self-motivated with a sales-oriented mindset
- NICET certification (or working toward)
- Prior experience working with general contractors and developers
- Background in fire protection contracting or design-build environments
