JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership for the Maintenance and Facility support teams for the Blue Bird South Plant. Building maintenance, logistical management activities and health/safety responsibility are included. This person must be highly motivated and be able to transfer this motivation to the workforce.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet established departmental and company objectives
  • Promote and provide a safe, healthy work environment
  • Provide support for implementation of management decisions and company policy
  • Provide reports related to objectives and results using Microsoft Office software (Word, Project, and Excel)
  • Maintain 5S techniques and housekeeping objectives throughout the production floor
  • Lead, motivate, and promote good employee relations
  • Implement and maintain a robust preventive (predictive) maintenance program
  • Work with support areas to identify capital equipment specifications for rebuild and/or replacement decisions supporting strategic decisions
  • Evaluate and professionally deliver direct‑report performance
  • Maintain departmental budgets
  • Act as a positive change agent in the workplace
  • Develop, plan, schedule, coordinate and execute projects
  • Recognize equipment/facility/tooling needs and implement improvement projects
  • Manage a focused safety approach with clear Lock Out Tag Out procedures

KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

FOR SUCCESS

  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Strong organizational skills, coordination of multiple activities
  • Plan, manage and deliver projects on time and in budget
  • Preventative maintenance schedules and continuous improvement techniques
  • Strong foundation in basic industrial engineering
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of Lean techniques and capability to apply principles
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Previous leadership experience in an industrial environment

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Associate’s Degree required
  • 3+ years of previous experience in Machinery and Facilities Maintenance in a production environment, fabrication preferred
  • All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field, preferred
