Retention/Hiring Coordinator oversees the recruiting, hiring, onboarding and orientation process for all new team members in nursing and other departments as needed. The role requires disciplined candidate prospecting skills and focuses on staff retention and morale promotion. This position works closely with the Staffing Coordinator on open schedules and upcoming staffing needs.

Pay ranges: $17–$38 depending on licensure and experience.
- RN: $32–$38 depending on experience and licensure.
- LPN: $27.5–$31 depending on experience and licensure.
- STNA: $17–$22 depending on experience and licensure.

Responsibilities
  • Directly responsible for recruiting new team members, as well as orientation.
  • Notify the DON, ADON, potentially the LNHA and Corporate Recruiter of trends indicating increased turnover rates and challenged morale.
  • Oversee the applicant tracking systems used by the facility in conjunction with nursing leadership and the facility administrator.
  • Coordinate immediate follow‑up calls/communications with potential candidates demonstrating interest in employment and responding to ads and postings.
  • Connect by phone/text/voice with potential job candidates within 24 hours.
  • Process applications, including reference checks, background checks, drug screens, physicals, license verification, all applicable releases and all other necessary documentation and processes.
  • Formulate interview, onboarding and orientation schedules for nursing staff.
  • Identify, train and coordinate qualified staff members for the role of preceptor with assistance and input from Nursing Leadership and perhaps Corporate Nurse Trainers.
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in negotiating situations with competing viewpoints.
  • Clear and calming communication style when faced with potentially difficult situations.
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure consistency in the role while maintaining company policy.
  • Disciplined to manage time and multiple duties of the role effectively.
  • Goal‑oriented and driven to achieve targeted goals.
