Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro unit night shift position in Fort Smith, AR, requiring 2+ years of experience and an active AR or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- 18-bed Neuro unit in an acute care hospital setting
- Patient population includes stroke and neuro surgery cases
- Patient ratio of 6:1
- Uses telemetry neuro cart equipment
- EMR:
Epic - Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to like units
- Experience with back surgery cases is preferred
- All nurses providing direct patient care must pass a medication and math competency exam (minimum passing score of 90%) before assuming medication administration responsibilities; the exam may be retaken once
- Black scrubs required; open-toe shoes are not permitted
- Up to 5 days of RTO is permitted but must be made up during the assignment
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced travel pay rate
- Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required
- Active AR RN license or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS/CPR
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) experience required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent Neuro experience
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required — Canadian SINs are not accepted
- No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
