3rd Shift – Live Haul

Department: 326 – Scale Operator

Shift

Hours:

10:30 pm – 6:30 am

Pay Rate: $14.25 per hour.

Summary

This job consists of weighing trucks (Live Haul, Feed Haul, In Town, etc.) in and out, filling out paperwork, and acting as dispatcher if needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Take phone calls
  • Weigh trucks
  • Fill out paperwork
  • Act as dispatcher if needed
  • Handle any issues that occur in a quick and efficient manner
  • Perform other tasks as requested by management

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
No prior experience or training.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one‑ or two‑step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
