Bachoco USA is seeking a Transportation Supervisor in Fort Smith, AR
.

Summary

Assists in all transportation matters. Completes daily driver schedule as well as the daily dispatch schedule, any DOT paperwork and filing, hold regular safety meetings, manage driver time sheets/payroll. Coordinate repair and maintenance of fleet equipment with the shop.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for properly training all personnel for the operations in the safest manner possible.
  • Responsible for direct contact all shipping facilities.
  • Responsible for overseeing the maintenance and cleanliness of all the equipment in the transportation department.
  • Must have the physical ability to perform their duties.
  • Must carry company provided cell phone.
  • Responsible for turning in Payroll with management's approval when completed.
  • Responsible for filling out all the reports essential for the department functions (for example: DOT, incident reports, weekly, monthly, and/or daily reports).
  • Responsible for making sure all personnel is following all bio‑security guidelines and procedures where applicable.
  • Must perform all other duties assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 25-30 employees in the Transportation Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree from a 4‑year institution is preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems;
Internet software;
Payroll systems;
Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have a valid driver's license.
