JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent, under supervision of the Easement & Buildings Maintenance Supervisor and/or Lead person, is responsible for carrying out tasks necessary for the efficient repair and maintenance of all Utility Department easements, watersheds, grounds, and buildings. The position ensures the Utility Department meets all requirements of regulatory agencies in coordination with the Utility Department comprehensive strategic management plan.

Must show cooperation and respect to fellow employees and supervisors at all times.
- Perform routine maintenance on Utility Department easements & grounds using mowers, trimmers, tractors, brush hogs, and sprayers.
- Operate over-the-road equipment including service trucks, flat beds, dump trucks, and trailers.
- Perform preventative maintenance and servicing of equipment.
- Build, repair, and maintain security fencing, gates, and barricades.
- Perform light maintenance and repair of Utility Department building & facilities, including use of hand and power tools associated with plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
- Participates in classes and/or attend conferences that are deemed necessary by the Easement & Building Maintenance Supervisor and/or Easement, Building & Station Maintenance Program Manager.
- Follows City, Utility Department, and Easement, Building & Station Maintenance Program safety practices and guidelines at all times, including wearing proper personal protective/safety equipment.
- Regular attendance and timeliness is required.
This position has no direct reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE- Must have high school diploma or GED.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license; CDL license is preferred.
- Two (2) years' experience in building trades, facility maintenance, or equipment operation desired.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read, interpret and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required. Ability to effectively communicate with industry representatives, employees, citizens, etc.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of percentage, decimal and fraction equations.
REASONING
SKILLS:
Good organizational, problem solving and analytical skills are required to perform the duties of this position. Ability to understand in written, oral, or diagram form complex variables and analyze them and explain results to others.
OTHER ABILITY:
Knowledge of the use of tools and equipment in the department. Aptitude to learn new equipment and methods.
