Engineering Intern ILocation: Fort Smith, AR
Business Unit/Corporate Function: Consumer Packaging Division
Responsibilities- Assist plant production and engineering teams with technical support for improvement projects.
- Develop or improve equipment and processes by applying creative and innovative engineering to achieve state‑of‑the‑art technology.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret data related to Lean projects.
- Contribute to Lean projects at the plant level.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in equipment improvement projects (capital and non‑capital).
- Assist in conception, development, design, and performance of various operations and maintenance improvement projects.
- Support continuous process improvement efforts across departments.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret data related to process improvement projects.
- Develop cost estimates for maintenance improvement projects.
- Assist with maintenance of all technical documentation, including prints, manuals, and process software.
- Develop training materials for maintenance technician training.
- Assist in the development of cost‑saving initiatives and track progress toward plant goals.
- Follow all plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergen procedures related to the production of safe, quality foods.
- Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to the appropriate authority for recording and correction.
- Completion of the junior year of an engineering bachelor's degree program in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
