Upward Bound Tutor

* Provide tutoring to Upward Bound students to assist with comprehension of course work, and work with program staff to improve student retention and success.
* Promote effective academic readiness and good study habits.
* Maintain attendance data and provide tutoring evaluations of student learning to ensure positive academic progress is achieved.
* Enhance learning concepts and strategies; test preparation; and assist with skill building as needed.
* Subject areas needed:
English composition and literature; history; social sciences: all areas;
Mathematics (Geometry, Algebra I, II, III, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Probability & Statistics);
Science (Physical Science, Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics);
Spanish.
* Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
* Maintains strong working relationship with staff.
* Contributes to the overall success of the department by performing all other duties as requested or assigned.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Ability to display a positive attitude and be an academic role model.
* Ability to present material using verbal, visual, and/or written methods.
* Ability to incorporate technology into tutorial sessions.
