Summary of

Job Duties:

This position is a full‑time faculty position in the Social Work Department with duties including: teaching courses, conducting scholarly and creative research, scholarship, student advisement, and service to the department, college, and university. This is a 9‑month position. The position reports to Social Work Department Program Director.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or

Work Experience:

Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in social work from a CSWE accredited program; knowledge of CSWE standards; minimum of two years of post‑MSW professional practice experience; teaching and practice experience should be consistent with the preparation of students for generalist social work practice; experience with technology in the classroom and online course modules is preferred. Other job‑related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach a diversity of BSW program courses. Development and design of new curricula; availability to teach day and evening courses; use of a variety of presentation formats.
  • Student advising.
  • Professional development and service opportunities with the university and in professional organizations in the community.
  • Attendance and participation in all faculty meetings, commencement ceremonies, and other meetings/events as required.
  • Conduct appropriate scholarly and creative activity in field(s) of expertise.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates. Requires consistent on‑time attendance.
