As a Tax Intern
, you will work closely with our team to support a variety of tax preparation and planning activities. This is a paid internship designed to give you real‑world experience in public accounting. You will gain exposure to individual and business tax returns, bookkeeping tasks, and other essential accounting functions.
- Assist in preparing individual (Form 1040) and business tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120‑S, 1065, etc.) under the supervision of experienced professionals.
- Organize and analyze financial documents to ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
- Perform basic bookkeeping tasks, including reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports.
- Research tax issues and provide summaries or recommendations as needed.
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure timely preparation of tax filings and client deliverables.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information and adhere to professional standards.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting or a related field (junior, senior, or graduate students preferred).
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above.
- Basic knowledge of U.S. tax principles and general accounting practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team‑oriented environment.
- Completion of at least one tax‑related accounting course by Spring 2026.
- Experience with accounting software such as Quick Books or tax preparation software (e.g., Ultra Tax).
- Prior internship or work experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Duration: January through April 2026 (exact dates tailored to tax season schedule).
- Hours: 20-30 hours per week, with flexibility for class schedules (weekend/extended hours required).
