Community Asphalt continues to provide traditional paving services which include grading and paving, pavement milling, surveying, excavation, on and off-road hauling, drainage, utilities, base finishing, and highway sweeping. The company also provides engineering, contracting, design and build and finance and more complex PPP contracts services. These projects include parking lots, industrial and retail complexes, road and highway construction, and airport runways.

Our company has an immediate opening for Tack Truck Driver - CDL in Fort Myers, FL
. The Tack Truck Driver - CDL will be responsible for the operation of the Asphalt Paving Tack Truck and labor duties. These duties should be carried out in a safe and effective manner under the supervision and direction of the asphalt paving superintendent and foreman.

• Responsible for the operation of the Asphalt Distributor - distributing accurate spread rate according with the job specifications.
• Follow proper safety guidelines.
• Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Maintain an accurate and timely driver log.
• Maintain refill, quantity measurement, inventory and refueling duties.
• Maintenance of the equipment used daily.
• Work with our crews on a day-to-day basis to complete each project.
• Ability to be flexible and perform a wide variety of tasks associated with paving.
• Work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

• Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Experience operating an asphalt tack truck.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Must have a current valid Driver's License and maintain valid throughout employment.
• CDL:
  • Class A or B
• Endorsements:
  • X Endorsement (Tanker & Haz Mat Endorsements)
  • L Air Brakes (Restriction Removal)

• Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations.
• Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Adhere to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as set forth by the US DOT.
• Must pass a DOT drug, criminal background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years (FMCSA).
• Must pass a DOT physical.

• Able to walk and stand; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, or crawl; talk and hear.
• The ability to use hands in order to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• May require sitting for extended periods of time.
• Vision abilities (with correction) include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to exert up to 10 lbs. constantly to move objects, 10-25 lbs. of force frequently, and 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally.
