Terminal Expansion projects are currently underway at RSW to improve the airport travel experience by consolidating the security checkpoints, adding concession space and providing passengers more amenities and options. In addition, a new Concourse E is being constructed with 14 gates, as well as other terminal, landside and airside improvements.
The expected starting hourly rate for the ideal candidate is $21.92.
The PositionThe Lee County Port AUthority is seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual to join our airport Operations team. This is an entry-level position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) terminal facility. Serving as a terminal operations agent, work is performed under the general direction of the Terminal Operations Manager and requires a high degree of independent judgement and initiative.
Minimum Qualifications- A valid Florida driver’s license within 30 days of hire
- Must pass a drug screening and the TSA and U.S. Customs & Border Protection criminal history background checks to obtain airport badge and customs seal
- One-year previous customer service, aviation, or related work experience
- Conduct inspections of all terminal areas including public/non public spaces, tenant-leased areas, general terminal space, sterile and secured areas
- Document and report deficiencies to the appropriate parties and initiate corrective actions to ensure Port Authority standards and timelines are met
- Respond to medical emergencies within the terminal to gather information by documenting findings and coordinating access for emergency responders
- Work closely with Federal agencies, FAA, TSA, and U.S. Customs Border Protection (CBP), tenants, stakeholders, and Port Authority personnel to ensure operational continuity at all times throughout the airport terminal complex
- Assist the lost and found agent with administering the airport's Lost & Found program
- Create and maintain various terminal operations reports
Lee County Port Authority personnel are designated by tier levels and may be called upon to assist with an emergency or unforeseen event at any time. Employees may be called to fulfill duties that are outside their normal scope of work to assist in resuming airport operations and flight activities.
