Job Duties

This is a highly responsible technical position requiring a skilled aircraft mechanic who holds a current Airframe and Powerplant License. Certification by the Federal Aviation Administration authorizes maintenance and repair on modern sophisticated aircraft and turbine‑powered helicopters.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, rebuilding and alterations on assigned reciprocating engine aircraft and turbine engine helicopters as prescribed by applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Conducting scheduled inspections, researching applicable airworthiness directives, and complying with them using computers, microfiche and paper manuals.
  • Completing necessary inspection forms and entries into logbooks and computer records; requesting parts to be ordered in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining work area in a safe, neat, and orderly manner.
  • Coordinating with the supervisor and pilots to analyze reported malfunctions and performing repairs or adjustments as required.
  • Deploying to field locations as necessary to provide mechanical, fuel, and helibase support to deployed aircraft, including routine and emergency maintenance of maintenance facilities and ground support equipment.
  • Assisting with building and ground maintenance, administrative tasks, property inventory, and other duties as assigned.
