Responsibilities- This is a highly responsible technical position requiring a skilled aircraft mechanic who holds a current Airframe and Powerplant License. FAA certification authorizes maintenance and repair on modern aircraft and turbine-powered helicopters.
- Performs maintenance, preventive maintenance, rebuilding and alterations on assigned reciprocating engine aircraft and turbine engine helicopters as prescribed by applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Conducts scheduled inspections on assigned aircraft; researches airworthiness directives and complies using computers, microfiche and manuals.
- Completes inspection forms and entries into logbooks and computer records; orders parts in a timely manner; maintains a safe, neat, and orderly workspace.
- Coordinates with supervisor and pilots to analyze reported malfunctions and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Deploys to field locations as needed to provide mechanical, fuel, and helibase support to deployed aircraft; performs routine and emergency maintenance and repairs to maintenance facilities and ground support equipment.
- Assists with building and ground maintenance, administrative tasks, property inventory, and other duties as assigned.
- Certification as an Aircraft Mechanic by the Federal Aviation Administration with Airframe and Powerplant Ratings.
- NOTE:
All positions require possession of a valid driver license.
- Occasional to moderate travel required; may respond to emergencies, including natural disasters or other incidents requiring travel.
